Post-Industrial Use of Sugarcane Ethanol Vinasse: A Systematic Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Vinasse is a toxic pollutant if it poured into the ecosystem indiscriminately; despite this, integrates components that make valuable in nutrients and water. However, its use has been questioned due to costs involved purification. This systematic review focuses on valorization of vinasse from studies performed for post-industrial use. Trends management bioproduct development were analyzed. The PRISMA statement was used as formal guide collecting analyzing 131 2018 2022. We determined biological processes are most obtain benefits vinasse, obtaining up three bioproducts. While true there predominant trend focused generation biofuels, must be noted beginning sucro-alcohol chain agricultural field. In this sense, we determine 14% treat reuse purposes, so, under Circular Economy principles, reincorporation field take advantage goodness minerals sustainable eco-efficient alternative should research accelerates consumption generated alcohol distilleries.

Vinasse from Sugarcane Ethanol Production: Better Treatment or Better Utilization?

Ethanol production from sugarcane in Brazil is a well-established industry, with relatively simple operations and high yield. The ethanol primarily serves as a renewable fuel blending with gasoline and diesel to increase the energy security in Brazil. Several environmental concerns are emerged around the by-products from this industry. Vinasse, the liquid fraction generated from the rectificati...

Use of post-harvest sugarcane residue for ethanol production.

Agricultural residues are produced in large quantities throughout the world. Approximately, 1kg of residue is produced for each kilogram of grains harvested. This ratio of grain/residue translates into an excess of 40 billion ton of crop residue produced each year in the USA. These residues are renewable resources that could be used to produce ethanol and many other value added products. In thi...

Genome-resolved metagenomics of sugarcane vinasse bacteria

Background The production of 1 L of ethanol from sugarcane generates up to 12 L of vinasse, which is a liquid waste containing an as-yet uncharacterized microbial assemblage. Most vinasse is destined for use as a fertilizer on the sugarcane fields because of the high organic and K content; however, increased N2O emissions have been observed when vinasse is co-applied with inorganic N fertilizer...

Sugarcane Vinasse, a Residue of Ethanol Industry: Toxic, Cytotoxic and Genotoxic Potential Using the Allium cepa Test

The search for fuels to replace petroleum consumption has caused an increase in the production of biofuels worldwide. The ethanol, which comes from sugarcane, is an energy resource with low polluting potential, but its production generates other environmental problems. On average, 10 to 15 liters of vinasse are generated while preparing each liter of ethanol. Vinasse is the final by-product of ...
